Dimitrios Kosmopoulos received B. Eng. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1997 and the PhD degree from the same institution in 2002.

Assistant Professor in the University of Central Greece (Dept of Computer Science and Bioinformatics).

Lecturer in the University of Peloponnese (Dept of Computer Science and Technology) - robotics, artificial intelligence, intelligent systems.

Assistant Professor in the Technical Educational Institute of Athens (Dept of Computer Science) - image processing, programming.

Dimitrios Kosmopoulos currently is a research scientist in the Computational Intelligence Laboratory of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications in the NCSR Demokritos.

He is also affiliated with the Telecom Lab of the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (Greece). He was employed as a researcher and developer for various companies and institutions. Past collaborations include Omron (Japan), Federal Institute of Physics and Metrology - PTB (Germany), inos Automationssoftware GmbH (Germany).
