I was born in Athens in 1980. I graduated as a linguist from the [[National Kapodistrian University of Athens|http://www.uoa.gr]], [[School of Philosophy, Faculty of Philology, Department of Linguistics|http://www.phil.uoa.gr/index_old_english.html]].
I hold an MSc in [[Language Technology|http://www.ilsp.gr/texnoglossia/index_eng.html]] jointly awarded by the [[National Kapodistrian University of Athens|http://www.uoa.gr]], [[School of Philosophy, Faculty of Philology, Department of Linguistics|http://www.phil.uoa.gr/index_old_english.html]] and the [[National Technical University of Athens, Faculty of Electrical & Computer Engineering|http://www.ece.ntua.gr]].
In 2007 I joined the [[University of the Aegean, Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering Artificial Intelligence Laboratory|http://www.icsd.aegean.gr/icsd_old/English/default.asp]] as a PhD student under a scholarship from [[NCSR "Demokritos"|http://www.demokritos.gr]]. My research is conducted within the [[Software and Knowledge Engineering Laboratory|http://skel.iit.demokritos.gr/]] of NCSR "Demokritos" in collaboration with the University of Aegean.
The subject of my doctoral research is Sentiment Analysis.

My research interests include the domain of applied linguistics, especially lexicography, syntax, semantics as well as the field of language technology, with special interest in natural language processing and computational linguistics. I am especially interested in sentiment analysis and word sense disambiguation.
